01 / Why test

Most of what matters has no taste, smell or color.

Hardness, chlorine, dissolved solids and pH decide how water feels on your skin, what it leaves on your fixtures and how your coffee tastes. None of them shows in a glass. Fifteen minutes replace guessing with numbers, and the numbers decide what your home needs, if anything.

Test ifYou see white spots or scaleSpots on glass, faucets and shower doors usually point to hard water.
Test ifThe taste or smell changedA clue worth measuring, not a diagnosis.
Test ifYour home is on a wellNo agency tests a private well for you. The owner is responsible for knowing the water.
Test ifYou just moved inA new home means new water. Start with numbers, not guesses.
02 / What we measure

Three tests. Four numbers. One report.

A chemical test for hardness and chlorine, a sedimentation test with a digital meter for dissolved solids, and a pH test. Everything happens on your counter, with your water, in front of you.

Hardnessmg/L as CaCO₃ · gpg
ReferenceUSGS: above 180 mg/L is very hard

Calcium and magnesium carried by the water. Much of Florida is classified as very hard.

In your homeScale on fixtures, spots on glass, a filmy feeling on skin.
How we testChemical test, on site.
Chlorinemg/L
ReferenceEPA limit: 4 mg/L

The disinfectant added to city water. Useful at the plant, noticeable at the tap.

In your homeTaste and odor, dry skin and hair.

Dissolved solidsTDS · ppm
ReferenceEPA secondary guideline: 500 mg/L

Everything dissolved in the water, from minerals to salts.

In your homeTaste, cloudy water, residue when water dries.
How we testSedimentation test with a digital meter.
pH0 to 14
ReferenceEPA secondary range: 6.5 to 8.5

Not covered on site

Bacteria, nitrate, lead and PFAS need a certified laboratory. If your results, your well history or your neighborhood call for it, we tell you and point you to a Florida DOH certified lab. We would rather say "test further" than guess.

03 / Before the test

What your city already reports.

Every utility publishes a yearly water quality report. It tells you the source and the average at the plant, not what reaches your tap after miles of pipe. Start here, then measure at home.

These reports show averages at the plant. Your tap may differ. The free test measures your water, not the average.Schedule my free test
